On July 7, AMWA submitted comments to the Federal Water Resources and Climate Change Workgroup on its draft report, Looking Forward: Priorities for Managing Freshwater Resources in a Changing Climate. The brief letter acknowledges the way the workgroup has communicated with sector associations about federal agency accomplishments in developing data, information, training and tools for water managers to use to manage water resources in a changing climate. The comments support the recommendations in the draft report and urge federal agencies to continue to work together to leverage funding to support ongoing data collection, research and training in adaptation planning and decision support.

The Federal Water Resources and Climate Change Workgroup is comprised of members from ten different agencies and departments and chaired by three members from the Council on Environmental Quality, U.S. EPA and the U.S. Geological Survey.
