What’s new on the agenda for AMWA’s 2016 Executive Management Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona?  The program for the October 16-19 event now includes:

  • Building the Water Workforce: How Utilities Can Develop a Skilled Workforce and Employ Under-Represented and Disadvantaged Workers

  • Foraging for Sustenance in the Hunt for Appropriate Rate Structures

  • Transformational Financial Management and Rate Setting

  • Creating a Degree Program for Utility Workforce Development

  • Automating the Grievance Process: Minimizing Demands on HR and Legal Resources

  • Strategic Considerations for Enhancing Cybersecurity

These new topics are in addition to sessions already announced on restoring customer confidence in drinking water, community engagement, regional approaches to water challenges, asset management and water management in Arizona.

The program will also feature AMWA’s annual awards ceremonies to honor water utility excellence, Arizona’s State Historian Marshall Trimble sharing local lore and legends, receptions and other informal opportunities to network with water sector colleagues, and a special tour of the Central Arizona Project’s headquarters and Lake Pleasant storage reservoir.
