The Georgetown Climate Center recently released three reports that can help communities in planning for climate change impacts and extreme weather events. Each report is fewer than 16 pages of text and provides actionable information and illustrative examples. The specific reports are summarized below.

20 Good Ideas for Promoting Resilience provides examples from state and local government that are already implementing these efforts in planning for resilience, funding and financing, as well as integrating climate change into laws and smart investment decisions.

Preparing for Climate Impacts: Lessons Learned from the Front Lines discusses the general roles for federal, local and state government in order to implement climate change responses.  It includes case studies illustrating lessons learned in the Center's work with states, localities and regions.

Insights into Media Coverage of Climate Change and Severe Weather Events in New Jersey provides survey responses from New Jersey media on its ability to deliver news and information to the public about severe weather events and weather disasters, such as Hurricane Sandy. The report also provides insights into how the media covers climate change adaptation and identifies the media's information sources and methods for communicating information to the media.
