Webcast Three: Communication, Regulatory and Non-Regulatory Tools

This Webcast discussed interagency and intercommunity outreach, coordination, and partnership campaigns. Recent success stories were examined in addition to tools that can be effectively employed by utilities to work in their communities to promote source water protection.

Cliff Arnett, of Columbus Water Works in Georgia, provided a case study on a source water project that involved EPA Region 4, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, and the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, along with other public and private partners.

David Ward, from Loudon Watershed Watch in Virginia, described LWW's inclusive community-focused and agency-focused efforts to protect watersheds.

Bruno Kirsch, from Central Arkansas Water, provided a case study on the development of the Lake Maumelle Watershed Management Plan from the start of the initial lake monitoring program to the controversial land acquisition program.
