AMWA's 2007 Water Policy Conference is just around the corner. Get your airplane tickets and make your hotel reservations today, or you will miss the most important Water Policy Conference in more than a decade. Register for the conference ONLINE or by fax.

Political expert Stuart Rothenberg will headline Monday's program. Stu will talk about the new political landscape and what to expect in the coming year. Senate, House and Administration speakers will discuss new and proposed legislation and regulations and the implications of the shift in control over Congress. Key committee leaders and staff will talk about their legislative priorities and what they anticipate will happen next year in terms of appropriations, water infrastructure, chemical security and water resources. Top federal appointed officials will discuss the potential Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) stakeholder process for revising the Total Coliform Rule, as well as disaster and influenza pandemic preparedness initiatives, such as vaccinations for critical industry sectors. The program begins with the Board of Directors meeting on Sunday afternoon, March 4, followed by the Welcome Reception. General sessions, committee meetings, luncheons and evening receptions are planned through the evening of Tuesday, March 6. Wednesday, March 7, is reserved for visits to Capitol Hill.

Also on March 7, AMWA is co-hosting a blast vulnerability analysis workshop. SOLD OUT. Only a limited number of attendees may participate, and attendance is on a first-come, first-served basis. (Two other workshops will be scheduled for later this year in other regions of the country.)
