In a letter submitted to EPA February 22, AMWA lists various concerns with the agency’s new interim guidance for destroying and disposing of certain PFAS and PFAS-containing materials. Chief among these concerns is EPA’s inclusion of underground injection as an effective method for PFAS disposal. EPA was mandated to create this guidance document under the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act, which gave the agency one year to complete it.
