The Department of Homeland Security will host a webinar entitled Regional Adaptation Strategies for Addressing Sea Level Rise and its Cascading Effects on Friday, January 30, 2015, from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. EST. The webinar will feature speakers from federal, state and local entities discussing regional adaptive strategies and activities for addressing the impacts of sea level rise on critical infrastructure. Specific topics include:
- Sea level rise in the Southeast United States – cause, how high and when;
- Organizing communities;
- Comprehensive planning; and
- Role of DHS Protective Security Advisors with respect to extreme weather and climate adaptation.
