The first meeting of the Microbial and Disinfection Byproducts (M/DBP) rule revisions working group will be held virtually on May 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET. The working group will support the National Drinking Water Advisory Council (NDWAC), which is charged with providing recommendations to EPA on potential revisions to the M/DBP rule. This first meeting is intended to make introductions among members, review public engagements and working group member interview findings, describe the approach to sequencing meeting topics for the meeting series and supporting discussions with technical information, and discuss goals for working group outcomes/impacts.

Members of the public can attend the meeting as observers. More information on the working group and how to register can be found on the NDWAC webpage. AMWA is tracking this effort closely and will engage the regulatory committee via an M/DBP workgroup as the process unfolds. Any members interested in participating on AMWA’s M/DBP workgroup should contact Brian Redder.
