Through an April 13 Federal Register (FR) notice, EPA is soliciting feedback to help with its review of current regulations to be considered for “repeal, replacement or modification” in accordance with President Trump’s Executive Order (EO) 13777. The EO requires federal agencies to establish Regulatory Review Task Forces to review existing regulations, focusing on the identification of those that are unnecessary, negatively impact jobs, or are not justified on a cost-benefit basis, among other criteria.

Per the FR notice, EPA’s Task Force is requesting assistance from stakeholders for feedback on regulations so that they can identify candidates for elimination.

If any AMWA member has observations they would like to share regarding regulations that may be in need of a second look under the new EO, please contact AMWA’s Director of Regulatory Affairs, Scott Biernat.  Staff will also be reaching out directly to AMWA committees to collect additional feedback. Comments are due to EPA by May 15, 2017.
