EPA announced that its Science Advisory Board (SAB) Hydraulic Fracturing Research Advisory Panel will conduct a November 20 teleconference to “receive written and oral comments from the public on new and emerging information related to hydraulic fracturing and drinking water resources.” The panel has been reviewing the 2012 “Study of the Potential Impacts of Hydraulic Fracturing on Drinking Water Resources: Progress Report” developed by EPA’s Office of Research and Development to inform EPA policy on issues related to hydraulic fracturing’s potential impacts on drinking water sources. Public input from the November meeting will be used by the panel to further inform their review.
The teleconference is scheduled from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. (ET) on November 20. Additional information pertaining to the teleconference, including background materials and agendas, will be posted as they become available on EPA’s SAB Webpage.
