Republican members of the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee asked to delay the panel’s confirmation vote on Gina McCarthy’s nomination to serve as EPA Administrator, arguing that McCarthy has not yet responded to all the questions raised during her April 11 confirmation hearing. In a letter to EPW Chairman Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), committee Republicans said they have not received answers to several questions submitted for the record, as well as requests that EPA “conduct its work in a transparent and open manner.”
Chairman Boxer has tentatively scheduled the committee’s vote on the McCarthy nomination for May 8 but said she will work with GOP members to resolve their concerns.
