Now is the time to make plans to attend this important annual meeting of drinking water leaders – March 17-20 in Washington, D.C.
The program includes a full slate of Congressional legislators who serve in positions of influence on water issues, including Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), Rep. John Shimkus (R-Ill.), Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Tex.), Rep. Grace Napolitano (D-Calif.), and Rep. Tim Bishop (D-N.Y.). The new director of EPA’s Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water,Peter Grevatt, will discuss the agency’s regulatory development efforts, while Caitlin Durkovich, Assistant Secretary at the Department of Homeland Security, and Kathy Jacobs, National Climate Assessment Director with the U.S. Global Change Research Program, are tentatively set todiscuss water issues from their policy perspectives.
National Public Radio’s Mara Liasson will start the program with her insightful political analysis. Also on the agenda are Susan Collet of the Bond Dealers of America and AMWA General Counsel Robert Saner, who will discuss water conveyance and Clean Water Act permitting litigation.
