Water executives identified the topics for AMWA’s 2015 Executive Management Conference program, and every session brings experienced peers and other industry experts to address the issues that are top-of-mind for drinking water system management.  Scheduled for October 11 - 14 in Savannah, Georgia, the meeting also features extraordinary networking opportunities, recognition for excellent utility performance and a beautiful, historic setting.  In the conference-opening session, Mastering the Negotiation Process, Alison Fragale from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School will lead an experiential workshop that aims to enhance current negotiating strengths.

Panels of utility executives will address building effective relationships with elected and appointed officials and optimization strategies for buried assets. Participants will hear firsthand from colleagues about how the Southeast Water Compromise in the ACF Basin was forged, how California is managing the “mega-drought” and the new customer service dynamic.  Speakers will also take on issues such as the cyber landscape, communicating the value of water, social media trends and a review of the Effective Utility Management Attributes.

Exceptional utility management and contributions to the water industry will be honored at the 2015 Awards ceremonies. At breaks, luncheons and receptions, water leaders can compare notes in a relaxed atmosphere. A reception at Savannah’s historic Brockington Hall is planned, participants will be treated to a fascinating history of Savannah, and a Wednesday morning tour will feature the Beaufort-Jasper Water & Sewer Authority’s treatment plant and Savannah River facilities.
