On December 11, 2014, WaterISAC conducted a Cyber Incident Liabilities, Mitigation and Insurance webcast. The recording is available to Basic (free) and Pro WaterISAC members. The panel addressed some of the potential liabilities for utilities from cyber incidents and how an evolving legal standard of care will require increased investment in cybersecurity prevention programs as well as cyber risk transfer and acceptance. The panel further explained what cybersecurity insurance entails and the different types of policies available, including the extent of coverage each provides. Panelists included Steven Bonafonte, an attorney with Pullman and Comley; Jim Grooms, Vice President, Brown & Brown of New York; and Bob Bregman, with the International Risk Management Institute.
