In June, EPA marked the 10th anniversary of its WaterSense program, announcing that the program has helped Americans save more than 1.5 trillion gallons of water and $32.6 billion on utility bills.

Consumers can now choose from more than 16,000 available models of WaterSense-labeled products for bathrooms, commercial kitchens and irrigation systems, products that use at least 20 percent less water and are independently certified to perform as well or better than standard models.

More than 700 families around the country now live in WaterSense-labeled homes that can save about 50,000 gallons of water every year, compared to a typical home.  The program has also certified 2,200 WaterSense irrigation professionals to help design, install and maintain residential and commercial irrigation systems that minimize water waste.
