In January 2026, AMWA and other members of the Water Coalition Against PFAS submitted a statement for the record of the House Energy and Commerce Committee's December 18, 2025 hearing on “Examining the Impact of EPA’s CERCLA Designation for Two PFAS Chemistries and Potential Policy Responses to Superfund Liability Concerns."
The record statement reiterated arguments in support of protecting passive receivers against CERCLA liability for PFAS cleanups, and also addressed several misconceptions raised during the December 18 hearing.
