AMWA comments on EPA's proposed revisions to the Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR 5)

AMWA submitted a letter to EPA on May 10 regarding the agency's proposed fifth Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR). The association supported the agency's inclusion of 29 per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and the proposal to reduce the number of days a lab has to post UCMR monitoring results from 120 days to 90 days. However, AMWA outlined multiple concerns with the UCMR as proposed including the decrease in data review times for utilities from 60 days to 30 days.
