On February 17, AMWA provided comments to EPA on its proposed revisions to the Clean Water Act Section 401 water quality certification regulations. AMWA's comments recognized EPA's intentions of providing regulatory clarity and ensuring reliable timelines. Simultaneously, the Association expressed caution that the proposed revisions would limit states' abilities to protect source waters, impacting downstream drinking water sources.
