On December 20, AMWA submitted comments to the Bureau of Reclamation regarding an supplemental environmental impact statement (SEIS) on December 2007 record of decision entitled Colorado River Interim Guidelines for Lower Basin Shortages and Coordinated Operations for Lake Powell and Lake Mead. AMWA's comments encouraged the federal government to prioritize drinking water's role in public health and safety and to support water agencies through federal funding and efforts in forecasting research and conservation efforts.
