On Monday, August 4, 2025, AMWA submitted comments to the Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) on its National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) implementation regulations. AMWA's comments come after departments and agencies began issuing individual agency-specific NEPA implementation regulations as a result of a November 14, 2024, DC Circuit Court ruling that the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) lacked the authority to issue binding NEPA regulations, and CEQ rescinding its NEPA implementation regulations on April 11, 2025.
