On December 30, AMWA provided comments to the White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council (WHEJAC). The comments responded to the WHEJAC charge questions regarding the most impactful federal programs and initiatives in the last several years and which areas the WHEJAC should focus on in the future. AMWA's comments highlighted the positive impacts of the Health and Human Services's (HHS) Low Income Household Customer Assistance Program (LIHWAP) program, and urged the WHEJAC to continue to focus on the need for a permanent low income customer water assistance program.
