AMWA submitted comments on EPA’s draft 2022-2026 Strategic Plan. The plan is required by the Government Performance and Results Act Modernization Act of 2010 and provides the roadmap for accomplishing EPA's priorities over the next four years.
While AMWA expressed support for the goals and objectives expressed in EPA’s draft plan, the association encouraged EPA to more specifically define actions it will take to achieve the objectives outlined in the proposed plan, noting that the draft plan was either unclear or silent on identifying actions to achieve its objectives. AMWA’s letter includes specific comments on four of the agency’s five proposed goals: tackling the climate crisis, taking action to advance environmental justice and civil rights, compliance with environmental laws and ensuring clean and safe water.
