Taking place from March 7 to 9 in the nation’s capital, the premier water sector event will attract the executives of the nation’s largest drinking water systems to hear from top congressional leaders and key officials in the Biden Administration. Increasingly, utility leaders are wading into the broad-ranging environmental justice and equity issues that face their communities. EPA Director of Environmental Justice Matthew Tejada joins the powerhouse roster to provide his perspectives on environmental justice, an urgent federal policy priority. Specifically, he will explain his role in helping EPA to advance Goal 2 or “Take Decisive Action to Advance Environmental Justice and Civil Rights” of the agency’s proposed strategic plan, focusing on its water program. Attendees also will learn more about the work of the National Environmental Justice Advisory Council and how EPA is working with the Biden Administration to advance its Justice40 goals.
