In January, AMWA President Pat Mulroy invited all eligible members to apply for recognition in AMWA’s 2012 award programs, which recognize the best of drinking water utility management and operations. The criteria for the Gold Awards for Exceptional Utility Performance and the Platinum Awards for Utility Excellence are aligned with the Attributes of Effectively Managed Utilities and Keys to Success, which identify areas where utilities focus to achieve successful outcomes in operations, infrastructure, customer satisfaction, natural resource stewardship and financial performance.
Participating utilities do not compete against each other, but are judged individually against the Effective Utility Management criteria. Any number of AMWA member utilities may win the award. Each winning organization will be presented a distinctive award during the recognition program at AMWA’s Annual Meeting in Portland, Oregon, October 21-24. The deadline for submitting Gold Award applications is June 1, and the Platinum Award deadline is July 2.
Application forms and information on eligibility, as well as details on past winners, are online at www.amwa.net/cs/ceo_resources/awards. Questions about the awards program can be directed to Carolyn Peterson, (202) 331-2820 or email [email protected].
