AMWA is partnering with ARWO and Rogue Water Lab to offer a Board Governance Workshop on August 31–September 1 in San Diego. The training is designed to strengthen the effectiveness of utility boards and commissions. The program provides practical, scenario‑based learning to help governing bodies navigate oversight responsibilities, long‑term planning, financial stewardship, and community engagement.
The workshop is scheduled just ahead of Catalyst and is tailored for board and commission members seeking to deepen their understanding of governance roles and improve decision‑making in support of their utilities. Participants will also have the option to join a half‑day tour of San Diego’s Pure Water facility following the workshop.
A room block is available at the Westgate Hotel for $189/night plus tax through August 10.
AMWA members can register online using the following codes: AMWAearly - $125 off registration before July 3, and AMWA - $100 off registration after July 3. Questions about the event can be directed to Antoinette Barber.
