Last week, AMWA submitted comments on a draft EPA report describing a tool to evaluate urban resilience and an annotated outline for the 4th National Climate Assessment (NCA4).

EPA’s draft report, Evaluating Urban Resilience to Climate Change, A Multi-Sector Approach, outlines a process for a city or community to measure its resilience to climate change. AMWA’s letter provides recommendations for some of the indicators used in the report. It also urges EPA to release the report as an interactive web-based tool, to maximize its effectiveness for use by cities to assess climate resilience across many sectors.

AMWA also submitted comments to the U.S. Global Change Research Program on its draft annotated outline for the NCA4.  AMWA’s letter supports the outline and also recommends that NCA4 include case studies describing climate adaptation approaches and trends across different regions of the U.S. NCA4 is expected to be released in 2018.
