AMWA insights about climate change adaptation policy, technology and adaptation practices at water utilities were highlighted in an interview with staff members Erica Brown and Jessica Evans in the September edition of H2OGlobalNews magazine.

The magazine noted that the international community has “tended to focus its effort on [climate change] mitigation,” yet AMWA staff reiterated in the piece that the organization and its members have been addressing climate impacts by considering adaptation costs and strategies for more than a dozen years. The piece acknowledged the funding the federal government has provided for implementing water smart technologies, reiterated AMWA’s call to fully fund the grants authorized under the Midsize and Large Drinking Water System Infrastructure Resilience and Sustainability Program and identified “ubiquitous uptake of water efficient technologies” as low hanging fruit in the technology adoption space.
