How healthy is your organization? Does it regularly monitor its own progress to build on strengths and address weaknesses? What are its vital functions and is it resilient enough to not only bounce back, but bounce forward after a major disruption? The Australian government has established the Organizational Resilience HealthCheck website to provide a free appraisal tool that can be applied across various areas of an organization. HealthCheck can help individuals and teams develop a shared understanding of their organization’s progress towards resilience, and identify possible treatment actions and inhibitors. HealthCheck will ask you to rate your organization according to a set of low and high level descriptors for 13 resilience indicators. These indicators are grouped under three overarching resilience attributes – leadership and culture, networks and partnerships, and change readiness – that build business-as-usual effectiveness as well as robust and agile response and recovery capability. HealthCheck is also available as an Excel file.
