As outlined in Section 9503(c) of the SECURE Water Act, the Bureau of Reclamation recently submitted to Congress the 2016 SECURE Water Act Report. The 10-chapter report provides highlights from basin-specific studies across the western United States to assess impacts to water resources resulting from climate change. The report also discusses potential adaptive strategies being considered.  Also provided in the report is a summary of the projected hydrology and climate impacts to water supply and demand and information about climate modeling and research. Six chapters of the report highlight specific basin summaries for the eight river basins listed under the SECURE Water Act. The basins are: Colorado River, Columbia River, Klamath River, Missouri River, Rio Grande, Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers and Truckee River. The final chapter of the report discusses other western river basins not covered under the Act.
