Noted radio journalist David Brancaccio, host of American Public Media Marketplace’s Morning Report, will be the featured speaker for the first in a series of H2O Catalyst interactive town hall broadcasts that will explore the nation’s imperiled water systems.  The free, interactive broadcast is set for Wednesday, May 11, from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. ET.  National experts will also be on the program to discuss how to fix and finance the nation’s decaying water infrastructure.

Beginning with the May 11 session and running through fall 2016, Circle of Blue, American Public Media and Columbia University — and a global audience — will explore the state of the nation's water infrastructure, “from what happens when pipes and policies fail to the opportunities for innovative finance, policy, and technology.”  Breakout discussions for the first session will include:

  • Pat Mulroy – Better Together? Collaboration and Water Supply
  • Diane VanDe Hei – Economic Engines Run on Water
  • Jeff Hughes – Financing the Replacement Era
  • Dr. Upmanu Lall – Engineering Smarter Systems for the 21st Century

Participants are urged to bring their voices and “participate with leaders in finance, water infrastructure and policy in a virtual, interactive town hall to learn the latest news, information, and share ideas about how the nation can respond to its grand water infrastructure challenge.”  Free registration is online.
