In conjunction with the launch of CREAT 3.0, EPA also released an update of the CREAT Climate Scenarios Projection Map. Developed using ESRI’s Story Map Series℠ app, the tool provides easily accessible scenario-based climate change projections drawn from CREAT. Users may explore different potential future scenarios at geographic locations down to resolution 0.5 degrees latitude and longitude across the United States for temperature, precipitation, storms, extreme heat and sea level. Based on the methodology used in CREAT 3.0, the scenarios are derived from climate model projections from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5 (CMIP5) dataset. The CMIP5 downscaled climate and hydrology projections were used to inform the Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
