The U.S. Department of Homeland Security recently released the New Orleans Hurricane Scenario Analysis Report, which used advanced modeling, simulation, and analysis to describe the potential impacts of a hypothetical hurricane making landfall in New Orleans. The scenario hurricane also directly affects other areas of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas. The report is an extensive document that depicts predicted impacts to different regions and sectors, including the water and wastewater systems sector. DHS has also recently released Hurricane Scenario Analysis Reports for Corpus Christi, New England and Houston. All the reports are available on WaterISAC or by contacting AMWA’s Michael Arceneaux at [email protected].
