EPA to Host Webinars on New Water Finance Clearinghouse
EPA is hosting a series of webinars over the remainder of the month to introduce water utility officials to the agency’s new Water Finance Clearinghouse, a web-based tool that will connect communities with sources of water infrastructure financing.
Formally announced late last month as an initiative of EPA’s Water Infrastructure and Resiliency Finance Center, the agency described the clearinghouse as “a web‐based portal to help communities make informed financing decisions for their drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure needs.” While the clearinghouse itself will not provide project financing, EPA says the tool will offer users “a searchable database with more than $10 billion in water funding sources and over 550 resources to support local water infrastructure projects.”
EPA will provide more information and offer guidance on how to use the clearinghouse during a series of one-hour webinars that will take place periodically through the rest of August. Webinars are scheduled for August 14, 18, 24 and 31, and each will take place from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. ET. Utility officials interested in participating should register in advance online.
