The Environmental Protection Agency has announced the final public listening session on the new Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) program.

The final meeting will be held at EPA headquarters in Washington DC on December 8.  Specific times and registration information is available from EPA online.

Since the summer EPA has held listening sessions in Chicago, New York, Dallas, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.  The meetings are intended to let the agency collect feedback from stakeholders on implementation of the WIFIA pilot program, which is designed to help communities finance large-scale drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects.  AMWA members with an interest in WIFIA are encouraged to attend the DC meeting and offer input as to how EPA may ensure the program fulfills the needs of metropolitan water systems.
