EPA has compiled copies of all letters received from state, tribal and territorial primacy agencies in response to the agency’s February 29, 2016 correspondence from Administrator Gina McCarthy and Deputy Assistant Administrator for Water Joel Beauvais in regard to improving implementation of the Lead and Copper Rule in the wake of events in Flint, Michigan. You can find your state’s response on EPA’s new webpage.

In addition to the posting of individual state responses, EPA’s webpage links to a follow-up letter in which McCarthy thanks governors for their efforts and encourages further collaboration to address lead in drinking water. A separate letter from Beauvais to state environmental and public health commissioners (also linked from the webpage) describes some of the perceived successes and continued challenges in LCR implementation as outlined in the states’ responses.
