In early March, EPA published an interactive Drought Response and Recovery Guide to help utilities prepare for, respond to and recover from drought. The guide identifies characteristics of drought-resilient utilities. It is divided into four sections: staffing, response and funding; water supply and demand management; communication and partnerships; and case studies. Examples, best practices and lessons learned from several smaller utilities in Georgia, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and California are provided. Icons and links in the guide take users to resources from federal agencies and associations.
