EPA will host a webinar February 8, 2018 (1:00-3:00 PM EST) to provide an overview of its downloadable Surface Water Toolbox, developed for water managers to estimate different streamflow statistics. For example, the tool allows users to estimate key flow statistics such as n-day frequency analysis (i.e. computation of 7Q10) for both gaged and un-gaged streams and also use different statistical tests to examine trends and identify anomalies.

The software is built on the EPA BASINS (Better Assessment Science Integrating point & non-point sources) system. To create the new tool, EPA and USGS combined two software programs – SWSTAT, which focuses on surface water statistics, and DFLOW, a flow analysis tool used to estimate low flow analysis and water quality standards.

Registration for the webinar is online and participants are eligible to receive a certificate for their attendance. EPA posts the presentations in advance and urges participants to download them prior to the Webcast.
