Earlier this month, FEMA released an updated set of National Planning Frameworks for each mission area: prevention, protection, mitigation, response and recovery. The National Planning Frameworks are intended to describe how the “whole community” – individuals, all levels of government, businesses and non-profits – can work together to build a “secure and resilient nation.”

According to FEMA: “The Frameworks foster a shared understanding of our roles and responsibilities from the fire house to the White House. They help us understand how we, as a nation, coordinate, share information and work together.”

The updates were made with input from stakeholders and thousands of public comments.

FEMA has been hosting webinars to brief the public on the new frameworks. The next and final one is on July 6 at 10 a.m. ET.  Register here.
