Chuck Murray, General Manager of Fairfax Water, was elected AMWA President for the coming year at the 2013 Annual Meeting, as Pat Mulroy of Las Vegas Valley Water Authority completed her service. Scott Potter of Metro Water Services of Nashville will be Vice President; Michael Wallis of East Bay Municipal Utility District will serve as Treasurer; and Mac Underwood of the Birmingham Water Works Board will be Secretary.
Also at the Annual Meeting, AMWA members elected three colleagues to fill vacant seats on the AMWA Board of Directors: Doug Yoder of Miami-Dade Water & Sewer Department, representing Region IV; Julia Hunt of the Trinity River Authority, representing Region VI; and Sue McCormick of Detroit Water and Sewer Authority, at-large member.
In addition, four current Board members were re-elected to three-year terms: Region I John Sullivan, Boston Water & Sewer Authority; Region III Chuck Murray; at-large Michael Wallis; and at-large Jim McDaniel, Los Angeles Department of Water & Power. Steve Schneider of St. Paul Regional Water Services will represent AMWA on the Water Research Foundation Board.
