NOAA has issued a call for nominations for the new Advisory Committee for the Sustained National Climate Assessment. The committee will advise the Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere on how to engage stakeholders on sustained climate assessment activities, as well as the quadrennial National Climate Assessment report. 

The Committee will consist of 15 non-federal members and include a balanced representation of experts in physical and social sciences, communication, education and other topics reflecting the variety of issues relevant to the sustained National Climate Assessment process. Committee members will be appointed to serve a term of one to three years.

Nominees with varied skills and expertise are being sought, including expertise in climate change and variability, risk assessment and management, communications, technology and other relevant areas. Nominees may hail from academia, NGs and the public and private sectors. Interested candidates may self-nominate or be nominated by a third party. Nominations are due by September 14, 2015.
