On Tuesday, September 30, 2014 (4:00-5:00 p.m. ET), WaterISAC Pro member David Parsons will discuss practices that can improve an organization’s ability to plan for and manage adverse events, such as natural disasters and terrorist incidents. Mr. Parsons, who is the Emergency Manager of Sydney Water in Australia, is the author of Adversity Leadership, a booklet on organizational resilience practices now available on the WaterISAC portal. During the webcast, Mr. Parsons will discuss improving information management and communication; understanding the issues versus the trigger event in making sense of what has happened; organizational structures, teams, and decision making; and psychology, perceptual issues, ambiguity, stress management, and group think. The webcast will cover many issues that are relevant to incident management teams and will stimulate teams to think about their approaches and consider new ideas. Register at WaterISAC.
