This week marks Congress’ last week of votes before lawmakers begin a lengthy summer recess. After this week, the House and Senate will not return to Washington until after Labor Day.
On the House agenda this week is consideration of the FY17 Interior and Environment appropriations bill, which includes funding for EPA and its water infrastructure financing programs. Also up for votes in the House are a Federal Aviation Administration authorization bill and measures to increase sanctions on Iran.
The Senate this week could debate the FY17 Defense spending bill.
