This week the House and Senate appropriations committees are each expected to consider their respective FY17 Interior and Environment spending bills, which will include funding for EPA and the agency’s water infrastructure financing programs.  On Wednesday, House appropriators are expected to consider their bill, which would trim overall EPA funding but deliver a boost to the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund and the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act.  The full Senate Appropriations Committee is slated to consider its own version of the EPA spending bill on Thursday.

Also this week, the House of Representatives will consider its FY17 Defense appropriations bill and legislation to increase Internal Revenue Service oversight.  The Senate is expected to continue work on a defense authorization bill.
