The Senate returns to Washington today following the Memorial Day recess.  Senate leaders hope to find time in the schedule to vote on final passage of an update to the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), which would empower EPA to prevent new chemicals from entering the market if they have not been determined to be safe for their intended use.  Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) blocked passage of the bill before Memorial Day.

The Senate this week is also scheduled to continue debate on the FY17 defense authorization bill.  The House of Representatives will consider the FY17 legislative branch appropriations bill and legislation to delay implementation of new EPA ozone standards.
