This week the U.S. Senate will again attempt to move to a final vote on the chamber’s FY17 energy and water appropriations bill, which would deliver funding for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and other agencies next year.  Two previous attempts to end debate on the bill failed in late April due to Democratic Party concerns over an amendment that could imperil President Obama’s nuclear agreement with Iran.

In the House of Representatives votes are expected this week on a defense authorization bill and legislation intended to address opioid abuse.
