The House of Representatives will attempt to wrap up a number of items before departing for the holidays on Friday. Measures that could receive votes this week include a continuing resolution to fund the government past January 15, an extension of farm bill programs and reforms to Medicare’s sustainable growth rate.

The Senate is planning to consider the FY14 defense authorization bill this week. Unlike the House, the Senate is scheduled to be in session next week as well – giving senators additional time to complete work on last-minute items.
