On September 11, 2025 EPA motioned for the Court to vacate portions of the PFAS rule relating to the regulatory determinations and drinking water standards for perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS), perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA), hexafluoropropylene oxide dimer acid and its ammonium salt (HFPO-DA, commonly referred to as GenX), and the mixture of these three plus perfluorobutane sulfonic acid (PFBS).
