AMWA wrote to congressional leaders on January 31 to encourage the inclusion of important environmental and social justice priorities in the final version of Democrats' Build Back Better legislation. Specifically, AMWA said that funding for lead service line replacements, low-income water affordability, and water reuse programs would help meet these objectives and should be part of any final BBB agreement.
