This month’s briefing will feature a cyber attack simulation and a presentation of cybersecurity legal issues, as well as discussion about vulnerabilities, incidents and training. Speakers include:

Salim Neino of Kryptos Logic, who will present a step-by-step simulation of a watering hole attack, starting with initial infiltration and concluding with exploitation of a SCADA Engine OPC Server. The discussion will also address real-world configurations and software, using common water sector issues encountered during live penetration tests.

Cybersecurity and infrastructure protection attorney Steven Bonafonte of Pullman & Comley, LLC, who will discuss emerging legal risks associated with cybersecurity, as well as trends in state and federal regulation of protected critical infrastructure.

Cavron Mortensen, with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security ICS-CERT, and Jeffrey Ashcraft, with Critical Intelligence, will discuss industrial control system security incidents and emerging threats, new industrial control system vulnerabilities in the water sector, situational awareness updates and opportunities for additional support and learning.
