On August 21, EPA released updated Human Health Benchmarks for Pesticides (HHBPs) in drinking water. Utilizing new/updated scientific information, the updated HHBP list includes 11 new pesticides, revises the benchmarks for 10 pesticides and adds cancer effect benchmarks for 40 pesticides. The 363 HHBPs on the list are not enforceable standards, but are provided by EPA “for informational purposes for use by states, water systems and the public to help understand monitoring data for pesticides that have no drinking water standards or health advisories.”
